Born in Cologne and raised in Berlin, I learned to love in Paris. Trained as an architect, I now work as a graphic designer.
Abandonment is an original leitmotif in my work. It is not about abandoned or decayed places, but about places that are still intact and that could apparently be taken over again at any time. I like to describe this abandonment with "missing presence". It is a visualization of the invisible.
A photograph is a stage, a "stage of memory" and thus it can be read as a symbol of time. But a stage is also a place of possibilities. I am interested in this idea and I try to put it into the picture without any pathos, objectively and distanced. The viewer of the photographs becomes a lonely spectator in front of an empty stage, which remains without an actor.
